Prof. Tom Braekeleirs

Tom Braekeleirs is an innovation leader in the field of digital health. He has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, having worked for companies such as EDS-AT, Kearney, Navision, and Microsoft. In 2023, he became a visiting professor of Digital Medical Technology at Ghent University (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences), focusing specifically on AI in Healthcare. He’s also a speaker and moderator at Nexxworks. Before this, he was CEO of BlueHealth Innovation Center, a non-profit organization active in digitization in healthcare. In mid-2023, this organization became part of imec. He is a consultant, podcaster, speaker, lecturer and columnist on topics such as the future of health, digital technology and entrepreneurship. In 2022, he received the PRoF Award for Innovation for his contribution to advancing digital innovation in healthcare. His personal motto is: “Change the world or go home!”
Prof. Dr. Ruben Pauwels

Prof. Dr. Ruben Pauwels (Aarhus University, Denmark) is Associate Professor in Dentistry and Oral Health and an internationally recognized expert in dental imaging, artificial intelligence, and radiation protection. His research focuses on cone-beam CT, image quality optimization, and AI-driven diagnostic tools that are redefining how clinicians approach dental diagnostics and treatment planning. With over 120 scientific publications, he is a leading voice in integrating medical physics and data science into everyday clinical practice. In recognition of his groundbreaking contributions, he received the Bagger-Sørensen Foundation’s Young Researcher Award (2024). His presentation will highlight the latest innovations at the intersection of imaging, AI, and patient-centered care.
Dr. Matthieu Rousset

Dr. Mathieu Rousset is a distinguished Chirurgien-dentiste practicing in Malemort-sur-Corrèze, with a career deeply anchored in implantology, digital dentistry, and guided surgical techniques. He earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2006, followed by specialized advanced certificates in biomaterials (2007) and oral surgery (2008). Since then, he has continued to enrich his expertise with a DIU Européen in Oral Implantology (Corte, 2014) and a Diplôme Universitaire in Computer-Aided Dentistry (Toulouse, 2015).
Dr. Fréderic Van der Cruyssen

Dr. Fréderic Van der Cruyssen (KU Leuven, Belgium) is staf member and researcher in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the OMFS-IMPATH research group. He holds both a medical degree (MD) and dental degree (DDS) with honors, as well as a Master’s in Healthcare Policy and Management, and defended his PhD in 2023 on trigeminal nerve injuries.
His main areas of expertise are prediction modeling, maxillofacial imaging, trauma, and nerve injuries, with a strong focus on translating advanced diagnostics into improved patient outcomes. He has authored several impactful publications, including international consensus guidelines on trigeminal nerve injury management and studies on prognostic factors and quality of life in post-traumatic trigeminal neuropathy.
Lth. Stijn Van Aelst

Lth. Stijn Van Aelst is a Clinical Assistant in Restorative Dentistry at KU Leuven. His research focuses on digital imaging and artificial intelligence in dentistry, with particular expertise in applying deep learning to CBCT imaging. He has recently published on AI-driven segmentation of dental implants and the mandibular canal, contributing to the development of innovative digital tools that support both diagnostics and clinical decision-making.
